When you contribute a text or link post to the subreddit there are a variety of different tags aka flairs that can be attached. A majority of these are done automatically with the moderators then going through and making changes to miss-tagged posts, and adding tags to posts according to their topic. This tagging system allows for you, the user, the ability to read posts with certain types of content. Below is a brief breakdown of what flairs are set up for the subreddit, and what triggers those flairs. I've noticed a number of posts recently trying to automatically tag things – however we don't use the [tagging system] so posts are getting miss-tagged sadly. I'm hoping this breakdown gives everyone a better understanding, and welcome input on how things are currently set up. Flairs, for the most part, are automatically done via /r/automoderator according to key words or phrases in the title.
Example: Post with the word WIP or the phrase Work In Progress would get the WIP flair while posts with the word machine + ? and or a machine name (major brands but could add to this this) would get the Machine Question flair.
This flair is only assigned after a moderator has reviewed the post Ok this flair is auto-assigned depending on keywords in the title but moderators review and verify that it follows the post rules located on the sidebar these are the only two that you are required to include info about your pattern in the title of your post – submission without this will be deleted despite comment karma or comments The options are as follows:
Thank you for reading though all of this. I'm going to sticky this post for a little bit and then create a wiki page to hold the information.
Edited to add more keyword examples
