SOS from an outsider! Buying a Sewing Machine Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

Hey Everyone!

My wife has recently started taking sewing classes and would love a sewing machine for Christmas. She has made reference to the Janome 625e (http://www.themakeden.com/fun/sewing-machine-sales/janome-625e), which I can get for ~$400 Canadian.

Is that a good deal or is there a better machine for that money? Would desperately appreciate any help! Thanks so much!!
