Sewing Machine Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

My wife needs a new sewing machine, which I am planning to buy for her Birthday. However, I know nothing about sewing, so I’ve come to ask you, the good people of r/sewing, for advice.

I’ve read the article in the wiki; although it has given me a top level idea about things, it hasn’t really answered the question, ‘which machine should I buy her?’. I am hoping that some of you might be able to fill in the blanks 🙂

I want to get her a machine that will work for the next 10-15 years, get through a few layers of denim and have a reasonable number of stitches. She’s not a beginner, but I think anything that makes getting going quicker and easier would be useful, as she’s pretty busy most of the time. Price isn’t huge issue.

Can anyone recommend a brand, or model that would suit?
