This has been an ongoing problem the last three times I’ve changed the bobbin. Each time, it’s eventually caught, after an hour or so of fiddling and much frustration. Now I want to know what’s wrong and how to fix it.
Things I have tried:
Checking in the manual for fixes
Changing the needle
Changing the actual bobbin
Unscrewing the machine, removing the bobbin case, cleaning out thoroughly (worth noting as well it has been professionally cleaned within the last three weeks)
Checking online through Google for other solutions.
And I’m at a loss. It’s a very, very easy machine to thread the bobbin on compared to the 1970s Kenmore I had used, but I greatly appreciated the transparancy that machine had when it came to what was wrong and how to fix it. Unfortunately, my mother felt it was too old and wouldn’t give it to me and I got this years ago as a graduation present (refurbished).
As for what happens, nothing. The bobbin basket (? not sure on terminology, the thing the bobbin sits on) is motionless, but there is a metal part around it moving. The needle on top goes up and down, but bobbin thread never moves, never catches. Ideas gratefully welcomed.
