Free software to create .pes files? <x-post /r/embro Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

I found a cool shop online that makes toddler pants and offers custom embroidery. I like playing with vector graphics so used Adobe Illustrator to draw some cute animals to put on the pants. The shop owner needs them in .pes format which requires special software. Does anyone know of a free program to create .pes files? Or do you have the software and want to help a mom out?
