Good resources/subs for refashioning/altering clothes? Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

I saw there was a sub, but it’s largely inactive, which kind of surprised me. Is there another sub besides /r/refashion?

I have a hard time looking at something on the rack and envisioning what I could turn it into and wear, but it’s a hobby I’d really like to get into as I’m already an avid thrifter and it’ll give me a chance to practice & improve my novice sewing skills.

So for fellow refashioners (refashionistas?), what are your favorite go-to resources for this hobby? (I’m open to subs, blogs, pinterest-ers, books, etc.)
