What's the best fabric for a slip or lining? Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

I’ve done some craft sewing but not much apparel! I’d like to make myself a few maxi skirts (using knit fabrics), and ideally I’d like to incorporate a lining/slip. But I’m not sure what the best way to do this would be – or, what the best fabric would be. I think a slightly stretchy silk could be good – some kind of silk blend? I’m guessing that there are some polyester/nylon options but I’d love to use a more breathable fabric if I can! Or maybe I should just do two layers of cotton knit… But I don’t want them to end up getting static-y and bunched up.
