What will happen if I sew a nappy/diaper cover across t Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

Not sure if I used the correct terminology. I want to make a nappy cover out of a (crooked) fat quarter but only have enough fabric for the pattern to be cut with the grain running horizontal instead of vertical..if that makes sense? Will it turn out bad? Thankyou sewing friends.
