Well, fellow sewers I have the Super-Duper sewing machine. Yes, you heard right I begged, borrowed and borrowed some more for the Topaz 30.

You ask why? No bobbin beeper. How many times have you been sewing along in the zone only to look down and you have lost your bobbin thread about a mile back. You are redoing what you just did. I can barely get it done the first go around. Another reason for the dissatisfaction came the day I started sewing a bag for my daughter. The sewing machine’s built-in letters are small and pathetic and I wanted that beautiful cursive B for the front of the bag. Now I could buy my embroidered letters at the store but to create your own what a delight. The web has a smorgasbord of beautiful embroideries. My heart just fluttered.

I did have the passing thought I could be a Pioneer sewer and just except my starter model machine but I couldn’t get the Viking Diamond out of my mind. Yes, I started at the top of the line and at that time the Topaz had not been introduced. This was a very long process.

So I proceeded back to the Viking store and saw the Diamond beaming in the light so white with that beautiful touch screen and THEN she told me the price. Ladies, that is equal to 2 souls and I only have one. Yes, I work and yes, I have my own credit but how could I tell my husband that I needed that machine?

Could I justify that to him and to myself? So I waited and waited and there it was – in all of its lower price range (under $8000.00) glory and only a 1 soul the Topaz 30 embroidery and sewing. This has the bobbin beeper and glorious scissors that cut the top and bottom thread. What a delight. Aren’t I easy to please?

The embroidery function is also wonderful and exciting and that is still while I figure it all out. It will be stupendous when I become a pro.

All can see the baby blanket and burp bibs on Redposie. I am now trying to repay the above machine so I can have my soul back – because everyone needs a long arm quilting machine.
