Tips for tracing patterns? Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

I wanted to try tracing my patterns because I’m losing weight and I wanted to be able to sell a non-cut up pattern. However, I recently traced one, cut it up in muslin and it seemed totally off and wrong! The curves were just not right and nothing matched. I swear I followed all lines perfectly. I used a pretty common type paper (non computer paper) to trace the pattern.
