I didn’t think cleaning and oiling your machine could make that big of a difference.
Yesterday I started having issues of needles breaking suddenly. (3 in a row mind you.) It felt like the thread/needle was jamming up as it went down. Nothing I did could fix it. I’ve had a ton of issues the past month or so with it. Bird nesting. Random skipped stitches. Even after adjusting tension and going through the manual, many things would just randomly happen.
I got this machine about 10 months ago, used, from a family member after it had been sitting around. Since then i’ve sewn hundreds of items and minky blankets. I never once cleaned and oiled it.
So this morning I spent an hour taking it apart, cleaning it with qtips and oiling everything via my manual.
Holy crap, it’s like I have a brand new machine. Everything runs so smooth. All my stitch settings work like they’re supposed to. It doesn’t sound like it’s dying anymore!
