If you are a devotee of machine sewing and you want to get into machine embroidery then you could do no wrong if you had the Singer Quantum Futura CE-200.

The beauty of modern technology is that you can get parts of it to work together. For instance you can get your embroidery machine to work with your PC to give you limitless embroidery design options.

If you liked to embroider by hand you will be delighted to find that you can produce perfect embroidery in just a mere fraction of the time hand embroidery used to take.

Hand embroidery is soothing and enjoyable and a lot of people will continue to work by hand simply because the doing of it is what they like, but if you want to produce work more quickly then a computerized Singer embroidery machine would give you what you are looking for.

The CE-200 is special in its way because you can just hook it up to your PC by means of the USB cable between them, instal the software you will be given with the machine and you will have this incredibly powerful tool at your fingertips.

The Singer Quantum Futura CE-200 is a combination of sewing and embroidery so you are going to get the very best of both worlds.

Imagine how a patchwork quilt would look if most of the patches had embroidered motifs on them. It would literally be ‘a picture’.

When you have access to so many designs your imagination can run riot as to how you would use them. You can even create designs from photographs, the software does the digitizing for you, it is called AutoPunch and it takes a picture or a piece of artwork and turns it into an embroidery design that your machine can read and understand. What about all the designs and pictures you see in magazines?

Have you ever looked in a house decoration magazine and think how wonderful something looked, perhaps a beautiful specimen cushion, well you could

have that design and create one of those covers for yourself, no problem.

You do need to have some computer knowledge when you try to operate a machine like the CE-200.

Unfortunately the instruction manual for the embroidery side leaves a lot to be desired. You should probably download and print out the manual that comes with the AutoPunch software. I think you will find that more informative.

Some people have experienced problems with their PC hookup, but you can get help with this either from sewing forums or the manufacturers of the machine.

The main benefit of hooking up directly to your PC is that it does away with the need for design memory cards as they can run away with quite a bit of cash.

I believe for this machine they run around $200 so you can judge how much money that would save.

All in all a very good machine to start with for machine embroidery.
