Suggestions for making a dog kennel cover? Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

I was looking in to sewing a cover to go around my friends dog kennel, I was wondering if you guys might have any suggestions for ways to do it or materials to use. I’d possibly like to have a flap on the front to cover the for that can be either pinned back or latched close when it’s night time to help the dog sleep.
