Some questions about buttons. Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

Sorry if this isn’t the proper way to do this, but I have a couple questions.

I’m looking to replace some buttons on a few shirts I have. They aren’t damaged but they are a little boring. I was thinking some wood, leather, horn, bone or metal buttons would give them a more unique look. My problem is I don’t know of any reputable places to buy them,

Google has lead me to www.ascuteasabutton.com , http://www.lotsofbuttons.com/en/ , http://www.moodfabrics.com/ and more. Does anyone have experience with these stores? Or others they’d recomend? I’m not looking to spend a ton of money, but I’d rather pay more and do it right the first time.

My second question is how do these materials hold up in the laundry? Metal I’m not worried about but I could see wood, leather and horn buttons getting ruined in the washer or dryer. The only horn and leather buttons I’ve ever had were on suit coats and blazers. For obvious reasons those always got dry cleaned so I’m not sure how durable they are.
