Smocked dress help Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

Hi. I’m a beginner sewer and last summer I made some sundresses from pre-smocked fabric. One for me, the other for my 6 year old daughter. I used extra fabric for thin sleeves but it was hard to line up with my bra straps.

I was wondering if there is a reasonable way to alter the dresses this year to have the tops of tank tops added to the dresses to give better coverage without looking trashy?

I’ll upload images of our matching look of how it looked last year. We got lots of positive comments when we wore our matching dresses.
