Saving written text on a quilt Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

I’m posting this for my fiancé who doesn’t even know what reddit is, so forgive me if I can’t answer you’re technical sewing questions about this Haha. Her mother was a quilter and she has several quilts that she made over the years. She died a few years ago and now after washing her mother’s quilts a few times the… label I guess you would call it… the patch on the back of the quilt where she wrote in marker the name of the quilt and the a little bit about it, has begun to fade. She is getting very sad every time she has to wash the quilts because the marker fades a little bit more each time. The writing was done by her mother and has a lot of sentimental value to her. I was wondering if there’s a way of preserving that part so it won’t fade anymore?
