I’m somewhat inexperienced when it comes to sewing, as the most I’ve done was taper a few pairs of jeans. I’d like to know the best way to fix this jacket I have that’s got some bad holes in the elbow section of the sleeves. It’s not mine, but my friend’s, who tried to fix it on their own and it ultimately started to fall apart. I have another black hoodie I never wear that could be used as patch fabric, would that end up looking better than if I were to sew the edges together? the hole looks to big.
Could I grab the ends of the hole and just stitch them together, or is that a bad idea? Does this or the patching method look less tacky?
