Question about reinforcing iron on patches Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

Apologies in advance if this isn’t the right place but I had a question about iron on patches.

Can you sew them into place in place of ironing them to ensure they stay put and so they can be removed later if you want?

I’m not really handy with a sewing machine, I’d probably take it to a tailor but I’d like to know if it’s possible/reasonable.
