Possible to repair distressing on jeans that ripped ope Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

I accidentally ripped open the distressing on my favorite jeans by shoving my foot through the distressing when I was putting them on too fast.

I wonder if I could just sew in replacement white threads but I don’t know what kind of string would be slightly elastic and strong enough but not too elastic.

I suppose it would also be possible to patch it with distressing from another jean but it would be really difficult to find the right size.

Any ideas?
