We finally did it! We went to Ikea and bought all new desks and lights for the teaching space! We have used it now for a few weeks and we must say, “WOW! What a difference.”
The new tables which are the Linnmon/Adils; they are very basic but very sturdy with a small price tag of $24.99 and the JANSJÖ lamps were only $9.99. Perfect height and lighting for each student. It feels like a real studio and we have heard nothing but positive feedback.

In 2010, I started teaching myself to sew. I started sewing because I wanted to make clothing for my stepdaughter. I have immersed myself in learning as much as I can about sewing through books, blogs, tutorials, patterns and online classes. I am so excited to share my passion of sewing with you!
I am proud to be a Co-Owner of Sew Dayton! My favorite part of the day is teaching, I love that moment on someones face where it all just clicks! To see someone’s face light up, knowing they just took fabric, some thread and a little creativity, and made something totally new! That is the most rewarding feeling.
