Need help getting started Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

Hi,

I’m a 21 year old Male and looking to get started with a sewing machine. Eventually I want to be able to design and create my own clothing line (I know this is ambitious considering the current experience I have which I will explain later). I realise that this is a long term goal and there will be many smaller goals which I will need to achieve in order to reach my long term goal but I am asking you guys to help me get started.

I am a TOTAL beginner, what I mean by total is I have only ever used a sewing machine when I was about 14 years old in my textiles class. I have been looking at buying a sewing machine and experimenting by watching youtube videos and reading some books but because I know absolutely nothing at all I do not even know if this is the best way to start.

Could someone please suggest the best way for me to get started? (possible websites, books, videos etc) I am sorry if I am being lazy and this has been posted before 🙁
