Is there a RIGHT side to linen? Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

So I’m making myself a frock coat, and this is my first major project. I’m making it as a light summer jacket, so linen outer and a silk lining.

I’m looking through the pattern and it has a lot of instructions regarding RIGHT and WRONG sides (emphasis theirs.) how much of an issue is this?
