I merrily cut out the top of a dress (I’m making loose house dresses to garden in – the ones in stores here are ugly), then noticed I cut the back extra large (correct) and the front medium. I do not have any more of that fabric, and it’s some I’ve had in stash years so I can’t get more. Ideas for fixing it? So far I’ve come up with put away pattern and patch in extra contrasting fabric (make a really wide button front and add a collar to fix neckline?)as a design feature, making it up as I go along; turn the back into an apron, piecing ties from the messed up bit; and forget the top, cut it into quilt patches and put aside for use in next quilting project. other ideas? I really like the fabric; it’s a purple, blue and green batik.
