Help with Vogue 8346 Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

[ad_1]

I’ve been gradually working on my coat, which is using Vogue pattern #8346. It’s been very easy to follow so far, but I’m reading ahead to the hemming portion and then my eyes glazed over.

I’ve uploaded the section of instructions that are confusing me to imgur here:

Starting at Step 49, I get lost. I put the other instructions in there so you could see context. Basically, it instructs you to sew the lining/facing to the outer coat along the neckline and front edges, then understitch. Ok that makes sense to me.

It gets weird when it tells you to flip everything right-side out and then in Step 49 it explains to flip the facing back to the outside, stitch 1.5″ above the bottom and trim only the facing off. But it neglects to recall that you’ve stitched that bugger all the way down the side not once… but twice because of the understitch. Not to mention it also has an image of the garment flipped wrong-side out again!

Can anyone put this into simpler terms or provide example images/step-by-step tutorials on this? I’m trying so damn hard to visualize it, but can’t.
