Help learning some basics to make dog collars? Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

What type of machine would be an affordable, basic machine? Needs to be heavy duty to pierce nylon webbing for dog collars.

I have 0 experience so I need to learn about tension, needle sizes, etc.. but I figured my first step would be picking a machine! Really all I need to do for dog collars is to be able to sew a straight line so I don’t need fancy stuff.
