…and failed. It was my first real project. Like, I’d done pillowcases and little stuff, but always with the supervision of a seasoned sewer. But for whatever dumb reason (naivety? hubris?), I decided I could totally do a giant quilt all on my own.
I could not. I won’t go into detail about what went wrong because it’s sad and embarrassing, but so many things did. Now I have all this fabric that’s been cut into (admittedly somewhat wonky and uneven) rectangles, some of which have been sewn together into long strips. Now everything is just sitting in the corner of my craft room, taunting me and constantly reminding me of my failure.
Is there something I can do to either salvage the fabric to use for something else, or salvage the quilt without having to tear out every stitch? Or do I just chalk this up to a pretty expensive lesson and go back to doing simple patterns?
