[Fabric Question] Hey r/sewing, if you were to sew a dr Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

I’ve been thinking about doing something like The Uniform Project at some point. The idea is that you wear one piece of clothing every day for some amount of time (the woman who started the project wore the same dress for a year). I’m interested in doing this, probably not for a whole year, but maybe something like a month or two.

Since I have quite a long list of requirements for the dress I’d wear, I probably won’t find a perfect one in a store, so I’d have to sew one myself. However, I can’t decide what kind of fabric I’d make it of. It would need to be durable and at least a bit stretchy and not extremely thin or thick since the dress has to be adaptable to many different weathers. Additionally the dress as a whole needs to be pretty simple, and plain enough for everyday use but also neat enough so I can, if needed, wear it to a party. As to pattern, I’ve thought of something like this: https://butterick.mccall.com/b6089 and https://butterick.mccall.com/b6086

Any ideas on the perfect fabric would be appreciated. 🙂
