Here are step-by-step instructions to make a no sew fleece blanket and a no sew fleece scarf.

Easy, No Sew Fleece Scarf

You will need:

No Sew Fleece Blanket

You will need:

Rotary Cutter

Cutting mat

1 1/2 to 2 yards of one fleece

1 1/2 to 2 yards of another fleece

(One fleece will be for the front and one for the back. They can be the same fabric or different. Be sure the 2 fleece fabrics are the same width.)

1. Trim off the selvage edges of the fabrics. (machine-finished edge)

2. Lay out the fleece with right sides facing out. Smooth out the fabric. At this point, straight pins can be added to hold the fabric together but it’s not necessary.

3. Trim the fleece so both pieces are the same size.

4. Cut a 4″ x 4″ square out of each corner.

5. Cut 4″ slits into the fleece, about 1″ wide. Do this on all four sides.

6. Tying the fringe – Use one strip from the top and one from the bottom. Tie the two pieces together in a double knot close to the blanket edge. The knot should be tight, but not extremely tight. Repeat this on all four sides.

TIP – Tie a few strips on each corner first and this will help keep the fabric in shape.

Making fleece gifts is a great way to save money on presents. You can find the fabric in team spirit colors, a child’s room colors or holiday colors. Make a scarf for someone’s favorite jacket or in masculine hunting colors. Your pets would even love a smaller version of the fleece blanket.
