Does thread have a shelf-life? Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

Hi. How long do you consider holding onto spools of thread? I found an old sewing kit and it has a bunch of spools. The thread seems to be strong still, but… basically, I’m asking if I should keep them or junk them? Feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
