January’s Class Project & Description: FLIP AND SERGE BABY BLANKET OR THROW
Make a quick, easy and reversible Baby Blanket with your serger using a 4 thread overlock and quilt-as-you-go technique. Serging the rows together and then flipping for the next row allows you to have the quilting done while you are sewing the strips together. One side has blocks while the other side has stripes. A decorative 3 thread overlock edge finishes it off! What a great way to use your serger! Note: this is baby blanket size but you can easily increase the dimensions for a lap quilt or throw. March’s Class Project & Description: DECORATOR PILLOW

Join us to make this chic pillow which is actually a study in decorative serger techniques. A band of serger pintucks mimic the look of folded tucks and a strip of piping inserted by serger separates two fabrics panels. The cover stitch is used as top stitching on a narrow band with turned edges and decorative chain stitch creates a diamond grid with contrasting thread. The resulting look is very stylish and easy to accomplish. The lapped back edges are also cover stitched.
