Anybody have advice on where to buy fabric for a weddin Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

My friend has graciously offered to make my wedding dress and next week, we’re going to look for fabric for the final product. I would prefer to find a fabric store that we could visit so I can touch and see the fabrics in person. Does anyone have any recommendations for a store in the Grand Rapids area? We could also travel to stores that are south and/east of GR – like in Holland.

I’m also open to online stores that have an easy return policy. I see Spoonflower is one online resource suggested in the Wiki, but it looks like they’d be better for patterned fabrics rather than the lace and chiffon I need. Any other suggestions for online stores?

Description of the WIP: At this point she and I have collaborated on dress ideas, she has sketched up a design, and she has made a practice dress out of muslin modifying this basic pattern (pink dress). Next week, I’ll get to see the sample dress and we hope to pick out fabric! The wedding itself is in October.
