Machine Brother CS6000i, Google isn't turning up a Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

After sitting idle for three weeks, I came back to my sewing machine to find the snap on shank broken and the presser foot lever not moving the shaft up or down at all. Video of it in (in)action here.

I looked at pictures of the parts and assembly, manually pushed on the shaft from the top (didn’t budge, even with all my strength), pull on the shaft from below (didn’t budge), and peeped it with a flash light to no avail. Nothing looks loose or misplaced. I even closed the cover with the lever up and then again with it down and still no worky.

If anyone knows what to do, I’d be eternally grateful. I really don’t want to replace the machine since it’s only a year old and everything else is still in good working order. Thanks.
