I hit up my local Hanover Fabrics, and I bought a ton of patterns.
Today, I went to my local fabric shop and found this beautiful, sheer polyester print and bought lining to go with it.
Originally, I was thinking of making this out of the very lightweight sheer stuff I bought (putting in the liner too, of course). But I’m looking at the recommended fabrics on the pattern (which are broadcloth, linen, poplin, etc.), and I think I may need a more weighty fabric and the sheer stuff won’t hold the shape of the skirt so well.
I also have this pattern which may be better for the sheer fabric I bought today. But the recommended fabrics are chambray, poplin, novelty fabrics, etc..
Can my lightweight sheer poly (with lining) work for either of these patterns, or should I hold onto the fabric and find a more appropriate pattern for the fabric weight?
