Costume designer sob story. Here's mine, Tell your Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

I design costumes for a small ballet company. Our show this spring is Peter Rabbit… so yes, there are dancing carrots and peas!

The carrots are bright orange with light orange ruffles. (peas are green). Carrots have a big fluffy green hat. The girls are about 7 years old.

I tried the carrot costumes on tonight and this was a conversation with one of the DANCE MOMS:

Mom: oh… shorts?

me: yep, wait till you see the hat!

Mom: I thought she’d be in a tutu or something.

me: well, we have lots and lots of little girls in tutus, we thought we’d mix it up a bit.

Mom: oh… were these all made by someone?

me: Yep, do you like them?

Mom: Well, I’m pretty disappointed. They aren’t at all what I expected. Who did they get to make them?

Me: me. 🙂

Mom: …

I am so happy that I have a supportive husband who calms me down when this happens.
