Sewing 101; The Basics – learn to use your sewing machine. Threading is essential and one of the most important part of learning your machine, if you don’t have one, use one of our machines for free! You will leave knowing how to thread, fill a bobbin, use seam allowance, change your sewing feet and your needles. You will know why we use different feet, what needle sizes are and why we need to use the different sizes. And make yourself some friends!
Sewing 1o1; Zipper Pouch – In this class you will learn how to use that zipper foot, how to put interfacing on your fabric. You will also learn how to create boxed bottom pouches and about seam allowance!
Hand Embroidery 101 – the basics of hand stitching! Great for gifts or just to have a new relaxing hobby!
Quilt 101; Piecing – We added this class due to popular demand! We have had some basic quilting classes but now we have added quilting 101 to the rotation! Come learn basic piecing and how to make a small quilt top!
Check out all our other group classes and forget we have private lessons for those projects that you need a little help finishing or getting started!
We hope to see you in an upcoming class! Come SEW with us!
In 2010, I started teaching myself to sew. I started sewing because I wanted to make clothing for my stepdaughter. I have immersed myself in learning as much as I can about sewing through books, blogs, tutorials, patterns and online classes. I am so excited to share my passion of sewing with you!
I am proud to be a Co-Owner of Sew Dayton! My favorite part of the day is teaching, I love that moment on someones face where it all just clicks! To see someone’s face light up, knowing they just took fabric, some thread and a little creativity, and made something totally new! That is the most rewarding feeling.
