Studio dreamsHey, friends! I have been thinking for months how I wanted to share this news with you, but I still just don’t have the words. It’s actually been weighing on me for what feels like a lifetime, and recently I started taking real steps to make it happen.

After almost ten years of blogging, I’ve started to feel my heart pulling me in another direction. I mean, I feel so blessed to be able to do this for a living. Sincerely, I do. But I’m not sure it’s ever something I could call a passion, you know? I’ve talked before about how my husband is a musician, but I don’t think I’ve ever shared with you how I really wanted to be a musician too.

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of being a songwriter. But I was told many times that I just didn’t have the talent. My own dad even told me I couldn’t do it. Was I ever in band or choir? No. Did I ever really learn any instruments? No. But music isn’t about technical ability. It’s about your heart.

Recently Jeremy and I were watching The Voice, and it inspired me to rethink everything. It’s kind of like when you watch the Olympics and the gymnasts are doing all the cool flips, and you’re like, I COULD DO THAT. Then, I started thinking back to Kim K’s hit single again, and I knew I needed to dive in head first.

Studio dreams I have never even done karaoke, and I hate being in front of crowds. But I feel like if you really, really, really want something, you just have to go out there and take it, right? I mean, no one is going to do this for me.

So today I’m happy to announce that Jeremy and I will be releasing an album together. So I won’t have as much time to be on the blog for the coming months (Sorry #priorities), and we’ll have to reasess my role here after the launch. But I’m sooo excited to share the finished album with you!!!

Studio dreams Thank you for supporting me through anything and EVERYTHING. I love you guys so much.

Elsie's solo project!ps. My dad never said that. He actually lied to me and told me I COULD be a musician. :)) Love you, Dad.
