Howdy folks,
I’m very familiar with 2 different sewing patterns for Ts: Raglan sleeved and ‘conventional’ sleeved.
However, I was wondering about a patterns that takes into account that we’re not shaped like stacked concentric circles. Another words, all 35″ stomachs aren’t the same and can’t be accommodated by the same sized shirt.
For examples, suppose you have a very fit man who’s tall. From left to right, his measurement is 15″, and front to back, his measurements are 2.5″. The total perimeter is 35″.
On the other hand, a fat guy, like one of my very short uncles, measures 13″ from left to right, and 4.5″ from front to back. His total perimeter is also 35″.
These two guys would wear the same sized shirt even though their 3-D geometries are different.
Is there a sewing pattern that better accommodates depth?
