Is this even worth fixing? Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

I got it for free from a friend, she had it stored unused for 10 years. I had to buy a new pedal. The problem with it is the thread tension kept seriously messing up. Is it even worth fixing? This machine is definitely not made anymore and I’m pretty sure the company is not even around anymore. Is it worth spending the money to get it repaired or should I just buy a brand spanking new machine that’s a little bit more reliable?
