Using interfacing to stiffen a brocade for a certain pa Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

Hey everyone, I’m hoping to make this crop top soon and had a question about fabric choice. I’ve been hoarding this green and blue brocade for probably 3 years and I think the scalloping would look great along the edge of the top. However, the brocade is pretty thin and this design relies a lot on the thickness of the fabric maintaining the shape. Could I sew in a heavier interfacing to give the brocade the thickness it needs? If so, any clue on weights? Thanks!
