Could I make this pattern (M7025) in a lightweight flan Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

Hello! I found this lovely pattern for a long, skirted coat (this) that I’d love to make, if I can find it at my local Joann’s. However, I don’t really want another long wool coat, as I already have a wool peacoat. I also don’t think my machine is up to the task of chugging through thick wool.

The pattern says you can make it in wool flannel, but I’m not sure if, say, Joann’s Cozy Flannel would be okay, or if I’d need a heavier shirt flannel. I don’t use flannel very often, so I want to make sure I buy the right thing before I get 5 yards of it 🙂 I’m okay with it being a lightweight coat, because again, I already have a big heavy wool coat, and I’d like a long spring coat.

Also, if anyone has made this jacket before, I’d love to hear what you thought of the pattern! I’m an intermediate sewer whose only inexperience is in tailoring, but I’m hoping the pattern will be relatively forgiving if it’s not fitted perfectly.
