Now info.

This is my first big project up until now I’ve just made small things like jammy pants for my kids. This dress is called an anarkali which is a formal dress worn by Pakistani/Hindu cultures. I’ve included the pictures a based my dress off so you can get the idea. The dress is (if I understand the terminology correctly) self drafted, hand sewn; i dont own a machine or anything, and hand embroidered my myself. I based the embroidery designs off a vector art I found on shutterstock.

The red is a lovely satin and the black is chiffon, gold is tulle. The rhinestones are just stickers actually for temp glam until I can find affordable sew-on options.

I purchased the materials over a six month period to make it more affordable and sewed the whole thing in roughly a week. The embroidery I did separately then appliqued to the dress though ideally I would like to see it into the finished product next time.

Bonus picture is of a hair pin I also made to go with the dress.

I hope you like it as much as I do.
