Bed sheet fabric ideas? Sewing Machines Parts and Sales in Los Angeles

Hey all – I have some old bed sheets, and rather than throwing them out I wanted to sew them into something new and usable. The problem is, I can't get past the fact that the fabric feels like a bed sheet. I can't make any clothes out of them because…well, they're sheets. I was thinking pouches for a LARP I play – they are always in need of pouches and it would be good sewing practice for me. Other than that I'm really not sure what to make because of the way the fabric feels.
