Perhaps you already have narrow down your choices to these two brands – LG and Samsung. Both provide the largest steam washers on the market now, both are price attractively to consumers being Asian brands and both provide very nice size washing machines – up to 8kg if you have need for one.
The question now is, which do you choose?
Surveys from consumers have shown that both LG and Samsung command a large group of loyal consumers when it comes to purchase of a new washing machine. According to the latest 2008 report by J.D. Power and Associates Laundry Appliances Study, LG came in first for best clothes washer vendor. Samsung won the dryer manufacturers awards instead.
This survey, comprising more than 3300 consumers, is based its ranking on a few factors:
a. Ease of use
b. Energy efficiency and noise level factors
c. Types of special features
d. Design and style
e. Warranty coverage
f. Value
The report came out that LG has scored the highest followed by Samsung, Sears, Kenmore. The difference in points is 831 for LG against 829 for Samsung – a mere 2 points set them apart. Sears and Kenmore are not far behind with same score of 819.
One interesting fact that comes out of the report, is that both Asian brands (that is LG and Samsung) has won over the consumers with their clothes cleaning effectiveness compared to other more established US and European brands.
Another important consideration with consumers nowadays is the energy efficiency of their washing machines. More consumers are switching to higher-efficiency washing machines and this figure has picked up to more than 60 per cent now.
So the bottom line is that both Samsung and LG differ very little. Performance reviews has shown that Samsung front loaders are well designed and uses less water whereas LG most popular models are its top loaders which require less maintenance.
